Nitter-Betanit supplies Orchard Heliodon to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

NTNU

Nitter-Betanit is pleased to announce that the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, under the guidance of Professor Luigi Maria Finocchiaro, has recently acquired an Orchard Heliodon for its daylighting laboratory.

The Orchard Heliodon is an easy-to-use and easy-to-understand tool designed to study building orientation and solar light dynamics throughout the year. With this equipment, NTNU students and researchers will be able to accurately analyze the effects of solar exposure on scale architectural models, enhancing their understanding of daylighting phenomena and supporting sustainable design. The instrument will also be used in the Sustainable Architecture course, enriching the curriculum with hands-on experiences in solar analysis and climate-responsive design.

With over 20 years of experience and installations in universities and research centers worldwide, Betanit reaffirms its commitment to providing innovative tools for education and research in architecture, building engineering, and environmental physics.

“We are proud to collaborate with NTNU and Professor Finocchiaro, helping to enhance the activities of the lighting laboratory and the Sustainable Architecture course,” said Giulio Podestà of Nitter-Betanit.

Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is Norway’s leading public university in the fields of science, technology, and engineering, headquartered in Trondheim with secondary campuses in Gjøvik and Ålesund. With over 43,000 students and about 9,000 staff members, NTNU offers a wide range of academic programs in STEM, architecture, medicine, humanities, and the arts. The university stands out for its excellence in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with industry, pursuing the mission "Knowledge for a better world".
