Jul. 09, 09. The departments' BEST and DiAP inaugurate their new simulation laboratories.
The collaboration between the company Beta Nit and the Politecnico di Milano has borne fruits, the next July 9th it will present the new laboratories, the urban simulation laboratory of DiAP (with the Beta Nit microcar) and the architectural design laboratory of the BEST department (with the Beta Nit heliodon) at the presence of Peter C. Bosselmann, Professor of Urban Design in Architecture, City & Regional Planning, and Landscape Architecture at the University of California at Berkeley and director of the Environmental Simulation Laboratory in the same university.
Thanks to the initiative of Fausto Curti (of the DiAP department) and Alessandro Rogora and Gianni Scudo (of the BEST department), the Polytechnic of Milan can now boast two new laboratories. Beta Nit took part in both situations.
For the Urban Simulation Laboratory of the DIAP, Beta Nit has designed and made a microcar to make endoscopic realistic videos of urban scale models, a unique device, of low-cost for the creation of realistic/immersive movies particularly important for the verification of the urban design.
For the BEST department, Beta Nit has developed a programmable and automatic heliodon to simulate the sunshade. The heliodon is a valuable aid for the architectural design of buildings, being able to show the best orientation of a building, the correct positioning of windows for more and better use of solar radiation in order to obtain a building to be regarded as the environmentally sound energy saving.
Giulio Maria Podestà will present the simulation devices made by Beta Nit for the laboratories (see the conference program for more details).
