Several years after acquiring an Orchard Heliodon and later an Automatic Orange Heliodon, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim once again showcases Betanit simulators.
In the new brochure and informational video of the School of Architecture, the university has chosen to present its daylighting laboratories through the use of Betanit heliodons, emphasizing the central role of hands-on experimentation in both education and research.
Working directly with scale architectural models, made possible by sun and sky simulators, proves to be more relevant than ever today: a complementary and synergistic tool alongside software-based daylight modeling. This integration allows students and researchers to gain a deeper and more tangible understanding of solar dynamics, supporting sustainable and climate-responsive design.
With more than 20 years of experience and installations in universities and research centers worldwide, Betanit reaffirms its commitment to providing innovative tools for teaching and research in architecture, building design, and building physics.
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is Norway’s leading public university in the fields of science, technology, and engineering, headquartered in Trondheim with secondary campuses in Gjøvik and Ålesund. With over 43,000 students and about 9,000 staff members, NTNU offers a wide range of academic programs in STEM, architecture, medicine, humanities, and the arts. The university stands out for its excellence in interdisciplinary research and collaboration with industry, pursuing the mission "Knowledge for a better world".
