BetaNit is proud to be part of this outstanding educational project promoted by Universidad Ricardo Palma (URP) in Lima, through its Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism.
The program, organized by Universidad Ricardo Palma and directed by the team led by Prof. Dr. Arq. Alejandro Gómez Ríos, is the new Second Specialization in Environmental Design — an academic course aimed at professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of the relationship between architecture, environment, and human well‑being, fostering a sustainable, conscious, and integrated approach to design.
The program is officially recognized and registered with SUNEDU (Superintendencia Nacional de Educación Superior Universitaria) — the Peruvian governmental body that licenses, supervises, and guarantees the quality of higher education in Peru.
For the first time, an architecture program delivered 100% online integrates the use of real laboratory instruments, such as the Orchard Heliodon and the Lobelia Artificial Sky.
These devices, supplied by BetaNit, are usually employed in on‑site laboratories to study daylight and artificial light using physical models. In this course, however, they have been adapted and streamed for remote use, allowing students to observe, discuss, and analyze environmental phenomena in real time during their virtual classes.
This unique experience bridges research, creativity, and teaching innovation, enabling students to live a hands‑on laboratory experience even from a distance — a decisive step forward in the training of professionals in sustainable design.
This academic path aims to strengthen professional competencies in environmental and sustainable design through a theoretical and practical structure of 10 modules over two academic semesters.
Key topics include:
- Climate and design principles
- Helio‑Architecture
- Passive systems
- Thermal comfort and energy efficiency
- Sustainable development
- Natural lighting and ventilation
- Technical standards
- Renewable energies applied to environmental design
- Urban sanitation
- Applied research workshop
Classes are held in 100% virtual mode, combining lectures, practical applications, and design simulations.
All sessions remain available as recordings for a limited time, ensuring maximum flexibility for participants.
As a technical partner, BetaNit supports Universidad Ricardo Palma by providing the equipment and expertise needed for hands‑on experimentation in bioclimatic architecture.
We are proud to see our simulation instruments being used with competence and creativity — not only during teaching and research activities, but also in professional development programs, contributing to the spread of a sustainable and innovative architectural culture.
Thanks to its faculty and international collaborations, URP continues to promote accessible, high‑quality continuing education, affirming its position as a reference institution in environmental and bioclimatic architecture.
The BetaNit team wishes great success to this initiative, convinced that shared knowledge and educational innovation are key to professional growth and to a more sustainable architectural future.
